The advances in beekeeping Extremadura quality certification of their products with a new analytics service
The beekeeping Extremadura run from this season with a new analytical service for all products obtained from the hive, especially honey and pollen, which will supplement the physical and chemical analysis conducted in the region and that heretofore conducted in private laboratories in Germany.
This follows from the commitment the Government of Extremadura, through the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Juan Maria Vazquez, acquired with the industry after a meeting held on 16 May with the Governing Council of the Cooperative Euromiel Second Degree, Montemiel comprising S. Coop. Fuenlabrada de los Montes de Badajoz and Caceres Apihurdes S. Coop. of Pinofranqueado and Sierramiel S. Coop. Torrecilla de los Angeles.
This commitment involves the acquisition of equipment for conducting the above analysis and implementation of the service, to be conducted by the Agri-Food Laboratory Waste and Extremadura in Caceres.
This will, as highlighted Euromiel President, Jose Antonio Babiano, a quantitative and qualitative breakthrough in the quality certification of bee products from Extremadura, thereby ensuring the absence of residues in them as required by current legislation, which Extremadura become a pioneer in the region to ensure food security for all products of the hive.
